Agtools, a Hispanic SaaS business intelligence solutions company, announced that it has been invited by the UN to participate in the 2021 Food Systems Summit to work on the “Building a Better Food Future Together” initiative.
At the Summit, Agtools will help develop strategies to improve the world’s food systems by 2030. They will work together with the Rockefeller Foundation, the World Food Program, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the Committee on World Food Security, the Global Alliance for the Future of Food, and other international organizations working to improve the world’s food supply.
The purpose is for all stakeholders to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
According to the UN, the first Food Systems Summit is a time-bound opportunity to unleash ambitious new actions, innovative solutions, and plans to transform food systems and leverage these changes to achieve progress on all of the SDGs.
Agtools, based in Orange, California, said it would support in any way it can through its technologies, data, and understanding of the food supply chain through its participation in the Food Transformers Lab.
“Together, we can build a better food future, and our team is grateful for the opportunity to contribute, excited to be part of the solution, and determined to support this great cause,” said Martha Montoya, CEO and Founder of Agtools.
Agtools, a Microsoft Machine Learning and AI award winner, aims to drive efficiency in the global agricultural and food supply chain. With one billion transactions per second, the company offers a solution to the challenge of accessing real-time data needed to make short- and long-term business decisions.
“Our true win is to help the world food systems thru efficiencies in the supply chain, reducing food waste, increasing sustainability, and improving quality of life all over the world,” Montoya noted.
The culminating Summit gathering will take place in New York in September 2021 in conjunction with the UN General Assembly. This will be preceded by a pre-Summit virtual meeting in Italy, July 26-28, 2021.
