Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Bi-Lo, Fresco y Mas, Harvey’s supermarket and Winn-Dixie stores, announced its plan to expand its Hispanic Fresco y Mas to three new locations in Orlando and Tampa, Florida.
This will mark the banner’s first stores outside of South Florida and will bring the store count to a total of 25 so far.
According to Southeastern Grocers, the expansion of their stores reflects the commitment to its customers and ensures the unique tastes and needs of the local community are authentically tailored to their neighborhood.
The move comes as the company recently filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which involves the closing of 94 stores, including one Fresco y Mas location.
Anthony Hucker, President and CEO of Southeastern Grocers said, “Our customer and associate responses to Fresco y Más have been extremely positive and we’ve been successful in tailoring each Fresco y Más store to the need of the individual communities.”
“We are confident that now is the time to introduce Fresco y Más into Central and West Florida neighborhoods and offer those customers an authentic Hispanic grocery store experience. We are excited to give our loyal customers a store they can count on while providing exceptional service and quality products.”
The new locations will open next month
The new locations will open in April and will provide customers with an authentic Hispanic grocery store experience, as well as an improved product assortment with hundreds of new Hispanic items.
All of the new stores will replace the current Winn-Dixie locations at the same site.
The new Fresco y Mas locations will be at:
- 8424 Sheldon Road, Tampa, FL 33615
- 4056 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL 33607
- 7382 E. Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32822
The first Fresco y Más location opened its doors on June 15, 2016 in Hialeah, Florida and has continued its expansion, as well as continuing to serve Hispanic communities throughout South Florida.
