10 Life tips from the Dalai Lama to improve your life

What’s better than being able to start changing into an improved version of ourselves? That is to say, a 2.0 model ME. How often do we hear that a friend or neighbor is switching their car for its newest model? Or that they are painting their house a certain color, or that they will travel abroad to learn other cultures? Very often, right?

Have no fear! The invitation to start changing yourself in a powerful way has been inspired by these tips from the Dalai Lama through these 10 phrases:

1. Let go of negative people

They only show up to share complaints, problems, disastrous stories, fear, and judgment on others. If somebody is looking for a bin to throw all their trash into, make sure it’s not in your mind.

2. Pay your dues on time

Also charge those who owe you or decide to let it go, if it is impossible to charge them.

3. Keep your promises

If you haven’t kept them, ask yourself what is holding you back. You always have the right to change your mind, to apologize, to compensate, to renegotiate, and to offer an alternative to an unkept promise; however, not habitually. The easiest way to avoid not following through with something that you do not want to do, is to say “No” from the start.

4. Manage your time

Eliminate and delegate tasks that you prefer not to do as much as possible, and dedicate your time to completing tasks you do enjoy.

5. Allow yourself

Take a break if you need it and allow yourself to act if you find yourself in a moment of opportunity.

6. Throw out, clean, and organize

Nothing drains more energy than an unorganized space cluttered with things from the past that you no longer need.

7. Prioritize your health

Without the mechanisms in your body working at its best, you can’t do much. Take a few breaks.

8. Face the toxic situations that you are currently tolerating

From rescuing a friend or family member, to tolerating negative actions from a partner or a group; take the actions necessary to face these situations.

9. Accept

It is not resignation, but nothing makes you waste more energy than resisting and fighting a situation that you cannot change.

10. Forgive

Let go of a situation that is causing pain, you can always choose to leave the pain of the memory.

Now you have 10 powerful reasons to start changing into an improved version of yourself.
