With the opening of its first store in Riverside, Northgate Gonzalez Market began its plan to expand the Hispanic supermarket chain in key markets in California, and with a new concept of community service.
The new supermarket has a community room available for meetings of non-profit organizations, where they will also offer classes on diabetes prevention, cooking, yoga, and more.
The Riverside store will also host the Clínica Bienestar, where area residents can get medical services.
“We are excited at the Riverside community’s overwhelming welcome to the grand opening of our newest store,” said Miguel González, co-president of Northgate Market. “Our entrée into Riverside is a planned expansion of our grocery brand into key markets and an opportunity to offer local consumers an authentic shopping experience with customer service that will exceed everyone’s expectations!”
During the inauguration, Miguel González, on behalf of Northgate Market and The González Foundation, donated $25,000 to support community organization programs in Riverside.
