Hy-Vee partners with Shipt and Instacart to expand its online grocery delivery footprint and provide new and convenient shopping options to customers in more than two dozen markets.
The West Des Moines, Iowa based supermarket will continue to offer its online shopping experience and wide range of products through its Hy-Vee Aisles Online service, with Instacart and Shipt offering expanded delivery areas and same-day delivery.
“Hy-Vee is excited to provide customers even more same-day delivery options by partnering with these national services,” Matt Ludwig, chief information officer and executive vice president of e-commerce at Hy-Vee, said in a statement. “As online grocery marketplaces experience rapid growth, Hy-Vee is matching pace to provide our customers a variety of personalized grocery delivery options.”
Similar to how it’s online service works, customers who use the delivery services can add their grocery preferences, choose a delivery window and pay for their orders all on the Shipt or Instacart mobile apps or websites.
Shipt will become available at Hy-Vee locations on July 24
“With 245 stores across an eight-state region, Hy-Vee is always looking to meet customers’ needs,” Ludwig said. “Instacart and Shipt were a natural fit as more Hy-Vee shoppers look for same-day delivery options.”
Shipt said on Tuesday that starting on July 24, it will become available at the supermarket’s locations in Lawrence and Topeka, Kan.; Kansas City, Mo.; and Minneapolis. According to the company, to celebrate the announcement, Shipt members in those metro areas who sign up before July 24 will receive an annual membership for $49 (regularly $99).
“Hy-Vee has been long recognized for its employee-owned model and for its commitment to powering healthy lifestyles and superior customer service. This new partnership allows us to bring loyal Hy-Vee shoppers the products they love right to their doorstep,” said Bill Smith, founder and chief executive officer, Shipt. “Through our app, our members have access to everything they need, when they need it, right at their fingertips.”
