September 15th marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. This start date was chosen as it is when the independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua is celebrated.

In Texas, Fiesta Mart supermarkets began celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with typical dances, Mariachi music, Hispanic food tastings, and raffles among their customers. Throughout the month, its stores will be carrying out various activities to celebrate the Hispanic culture with the community.

Vallarta Supermarkets

Vallarta Supermarkets in Los Angeles, California, was one of the sponsors of the Central American Parade that took place on Sunday, September 17th. In their taquerías, the diners can celebrate the whole month tasting the Mexican food.

Northgate Gonzalez Markets

Honoring the Hispanic culture, Northgate Gonzalez Markets celebrated Mexico’s Independence Day on September 16th, the Sabrosa Cultura event, teaching attendees to prepare typical dishes from central Mexico.

Superior Grocers

Similarly, as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, Superior Grocers sponsored the Parade in East Los Angeles to celebrate Mexico’s Independence.

Fresco y Más

Fresco y Más supermarkets help a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration with a “Fresco y Más Domino Tournament” in their Tampa store. Shoppers watched and played games, while others sampled tasty food from the live cooking demonstrations of signature Latin dishes. Live music and mural painting were other activities that went on during this time at Fresco y Más.

Sedano’s Supermarket

Compare Foods is celebrating this year’s Hispanic Heritage with free food, drinks, games, prizes, bounce houses for the kids, and more. They are giving away lots of prizes at each event! This is their way of thanking the Hispanic community and embracing the culture.
