Stater Bros. Markets Opens New Location in Whittier

Stater Bros. Markets announced the opening of their newest store at 11810 Whittier Boulevard in the community of Whittier, California. The new Whittier location replaces a former store previously located at 11750 Whittier Blvd.

The new store opened for business on Wednesday, November 3rd, and will operate daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. The store will be led by Store Manager Melissa Brockelmeyer whose service with the company spans over 22 years.

At 44,378 square feet in size, the store features wide aisles and décor that reflects the local community.

The new supermarket features a full-service butcher, seafood, deli, and bakery. It offers a wide selection of fresh, organic, and healthy produce, including fresh fruit cut in the store and artisanal sushi made fresh daily on-site.

For the convenience of their customers, the store will have 11 checkout registers with several offering self-checkout. In addition, the store will implement eco-friendly practices such as the use of energy-efficient equipment and energy-saving LED lighting.

The new Stater Bros. store brings approximately 150 jobs to the area and is the second location to serve the City of Whittier.

CEO Pete Van Helden. “The community will be pleased with a wide variety of product offerings and convenient meal solutions that will make for an exceptional shopping experience,” Van Helden concluded.

In celebration of the store opening and the company’s tradition of giving back to the communities it serves, Stater Bros. Charities presented donations totaling $15,000 to Whittier Meal on Wheels, Boys & Girls Club of Whittier, Skills Organization, The Whole Child, Disabled American Veterans #46 Whittier, and Ozzy Foundation.

Stater Bros. was founded in 1936 in Yucaipa, California, and has grown steadily to become the largest privately owned Supermarket Chain in Southern California and the largest private employer in both San Bernardino County and Riverside County. The company currently operates 171 Supermarkets, and it has approximately 18,000 employees.
