Associated Supermarket Group (ASG) became the primary supplier for Livoti’s Old World Market, a supermarket specializing in Italian products.
Livoti’s is a gourmet supermarket known as one of New Jersey’s great Italian markets. In 2010 it opened its first store in Aberdeen, and they currently have four supermarkets located in Freehold, Marlboro, and Middletown, New Jersey.
“Livoti’s joining the ASG network will propel both companies to achieve further growth,” said Joe Garcia and Zulema Wiscovitch, co-CEO and co-president of Associated Supermarket Group. “ASG will provide Livoti’s with the merchandising and product assortment necessary to meet the needs of its customers,” the two ASG principals added.
The gourmet store offers a wide variety of traditional and Italian specialties. They have gourmet and premium bakery, produce, meat, charcuterie, mozzarella, olive bar, grocery, dairy, frozen, seafood, and catering departments.
While Livoti’s excels in its perimeter services, with ASG’s support, it is now looking to develop its center-store grocery offerings, elevate its marketing and advertising performance through traditional outlets and digital channels, as well as deepen its relationships with direct-store-delivery suppliers, the company said in a statement.
“We are using analytics data on category sales and consumer preferences. This data will enable the store to merchandise and distribute best-selling grocery, dairy, and frozen products at competitive prices,” said Ken Scher, senior vice president of business development for Associated Supermarket Group.
For the gourmet specialty grocer, having ASG’s support will be essential in improving the store’s core sales and competitiveness. Their strong support of direct store delivery and outstanding customer service is crucial in helping Livoti’s address the issues they face these days, such as out-of-stocks, product delivery, social media, and marketing.
