Klass and Other Companies Send Help to Those Affected By Natural Disasters

Klasstime LTD announced that they will donate more than $100,000 in products to support those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the families affected by Harvey and Irma,” said Jorge Kovacs, Country Manager for Klasstime, LTD. “The Klass family is proud to be able to contribute to our communities and we are sure that the product which we are donating will bring a ray of enjoyment in these hard times.

The donation will occur through the Feeding Florida organization and the Regional Food Bank of Laredo.

“Feeding Florida is so appreciative of KlassCo’s contribution to help our networks continue to serve every individual impacted by Hurricane Irma throughout our state,” said Robin Safley, Executive Director of Feeding Florida.

“Our statewide network of food banks are an essential part of emergency and disaster efforts as we support many of the front-line services aimed at providing essential items during response and recovery efforts.”

They are sending help to Puerto Rico

For their part, Goya Foods announced that the Goya in Puerto Rico is operating and working with one mission: helping to rebuild the island of beauty.

In a press release, the company announced that they are coordinating with the donation delivery of water and food that is so necessary right now, not only from its factory in Puerto Rico, but also from its operations in the United States and other countries.

From New York, the National Supermarket Association donated 3,000 food canned products as part of the humanitarian aid that governor Andrew M. Cuomo took to Puerto Rico in recent days.

“We have assembled emergency response experts to support Puerto Rico and help repair its devastated power structure and we are providing supplies and all the additional assistance we can to support the island as they recover from this unprecedented natural disaster,” said Governor Cuomo.

In California, Vallarta supermarkets are carrying out a fundraising campaign to help those affected by the earthquake in Mexico and the Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. According to information on their Facebook page, in the 7 days of their campaign, the Vallarta supermarkets have raised $166,950.

In Virginia, Todos Supermarket will hold a collection of essential articles and donations to be distributed to the Red Cross in Woodbridge, from 3 pm to 9 pm on Friday, September 29, for those affected by the natural disasters in Puerto Rico and Mexico.
