CART and The NGA Show Partner to Bring Retail Innovation

The NGA Show and the Center for Advancing Retail & Technology (CART) are partnering to make San Diego the epicenter of retail innovation on opening day of the 2019 NGA Show. In a special three-and-a-half-hour event leading up to the opening keynote session of The NGA Show, CART will give mid-market regional retailers and progressive independent operators a framework for navigating fast-paced innovation while retaining a focus on the importance of people and physical stores as we move into the future.

CART will introduce iRetail, a new worldview for retail executives, one that brings order to the overwhelming chaos caused by disruptive tech-driven capabilities, new competition, and changing consumers. The event will feature acclaimed speakers, industry thought leaders and retail executives sharing experiences and best practices, a framework for evaluating existing capabilities and incorporating new technologies, a discussion on developing an innovation culture, and a showcase and demonstrations of the latest technologies transforming retail.

“We are excited to partner with CART in expanding the educational offerings at The NGA Show through this special event that is focused on providing valuable content and learning for regional retailers, independent operators, and other thought leaders in the independent supermarket industry,” said Peter Larkin, president and CEO of National Grocers Association. “Despite increased competition from all angles, it is an exciting time for the supermarket industry, and we at NGA are bullish about what the future holds for the independent grocers.”

Decades of retail experience, extensive work with notable retailers around the world, and an unparalleled view to innovation flowing into the industry will combine to create a thought-provoking afternoon. Gary Hawkins, Founder & CEO of CART, states “Retailers can join us in stepping into the innovation gap, gaining a view to new technologies and, importantly, anchor their business in a powerful new worldview amidst the ever-growing tsunami of innovation.”
