EXP Group NY: Rooted in Community & Urgency

Last May, EXP Group LLC, a leading produce company headquartered in New Jersey, opened its third branch: a 20,000-square-foot distribution center in Bayshore, Long Island. This new facility is strategically focused on serving the Latino, foodservice, and retail sectors with unparalleled urgency.

The company, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary this October, offers an impressive array of over 150 SKUs with multiple variations. In an interview, President Anthony Serafino shared the vision behind the new New York facility with Abasto.

One-Stop Shop and Community Focus

“We’re incredibly excited for this Long Island location,” Serafino explained. “It’s going to truly open up our food service, retail, and merchandising opportunities, especially as we serve our Latino and Hispano communities there. We’re a true one-stop shop – whether it’s peppers, plantains, bananas, yuccas, or lechuga, you name it. We’re the complete solution for our clientele. We bring our different ‘sauce’ for say in our different locations, I think it puts us in a very positive area to succeed, and I feel that New York and us we have that same ‘salsa’.”

EXP Group LLC’s main headquarters are in North Bergen, New Jersey, just five miles outside New York City. The company expanded to McAllen, Texas, in September 2023, making Bayshore, New York, its third strategic location. Serafino hopes to announce a fourth facility by the end of the year.


“Brentwood is in a perfect spot-on Long Island where we could service the Forks and also be very accessible to the outer boroughs of New York City,” Serafino said, emphasizing the strategic advantage. “We feel it’s a great location for us. When we look at these different locations, we’re specializing in being quicker and delivering what we call ‘champion service.’”

Quickness, Hospitality, and Champion Service

Serafino underscored the critical importance of urgency in their business. “If you call me at night, I can get to you the next day, 12 hours later,” he stated. This rapid response, he explained, is paramount, especially when dealing with perishable goods. He noted that their new New York location directly addresses this need, embodying the principle of “location, location, location” to enhance their service to wholesale, retail, and foodservice clients.

“Now instead of me taking a few hours to cross the bridge and get to you in Long Island, I’m going to be able to get to you in minutes,” Serafino concluded. He highlighted how the new branch will drastically reduce delivery times and empower their teams with an even greater sense of urgency, ensuring clients receive top-tier service.
