Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, recently concluded its Goya Cares Hydrate for Hope campaign, raising $350,000 to combat child abuse, exploitation, and trafficking while supporting mental health initiatives.
“The safety and well-being of children are of utmost importance to us,” said Bob Unanue, President and CEO of Goya Foods. “Thanks to the incredible support we received during the campaign, we are taking meaningful steps to protect our most vulnerable population and support their mental health. Together, we can usher in lasting change.”
Goya Cares Funds Key Organizations Nationwide
The funds will benefit organizations at the forefront of child protection, including:
- Olive Crest (California)
- Kristi House (Florida)
- Crime Stoppers of Houston (Texas)
- Salt & Light (Chicago)
- Covenant House (New York and New Jersey)
- Center for Safety and Change (New York)
These nonprofits play pivotal roles in preventing child exploitation and providing vital mental health resources to children and teens in need.
Raising Awareness Through Hydrate for Hope
The Hydrate for Hope campaign was initiated to address rising concerns about child exploitation and mental health challenges across the U.S.
Proceeds from the sale of Goya Coconut Water contributed to the $350,000 raised. Additionally, the campaign heightened awareness of these critical issues by promoting education and community involvement.
The funds will also support preventative education programs in schools nationwide through partnerships with the Goya Cares coalition. These programs aim to equip students, parents, and educators with the knowledge to identify and address risks related to child abuse and trafficking.
