SIAL America to Launch its First Large-Scale Food Trade Show in the U.S.

Las Vegas has been selected as the first U.S. market to launch the first large-scale generalist food trade show, SIAL America, focused on supporting the $1.5 trillion food and beverage market.

SIAL America is scheduled to hold its first trade show at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) on March 22-24, 2022. According to a press release, it will be co-located with Emerald’s International Pizza Expo and International Artisan Bakery Expo.

Comexposium, a leading global event organizer and SIAL brand owner, will join forces with Emerald, a company dedicated to providing market-driven, business-to-business platforms that integrate live events with a broad array of media, to produce and stage what is expected to be the first large-scale, generalist SIAL America food trade show, the business partners announced in a statement.

Las Vegas was selected as the first U.S. market to host the 50-year-old show due to its appeal as a top trade show destination. The city was named the number one trade show destination in North America for 26 consecutive years by Trade Show News Network.

“This partnership underscores the ever-increasing importance of creating a single event for the food industry. Emerald and Comexposium share a vision of providing new opportunities for our customers to grow and innovate, which is very exciting for our industry as a whole,” said Jessica Blue, EVP, Emerald.

SIAL America trade show is expected to include products from the following categories: Organic and Wellness, Beverages, Groceries, Sweets and Bakeries, Fruits and Vegetables, Seafood, Dairy Products, Frozen Foods, Snack Foods, and Meats.

“We are excited to welcome SIAL America to Las Vegas for its inaugural show in the U.S.,” said Brian Yost, chief operating officer for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), which owns and operates the LVCC. “SIAL’s arrival reinforces Las Vegas’ position as a premier culinary destination with world-class restaurants and dining experiences. We look forward to providing the show’s organizers, exhibitors, and attendees with an experience that can only be found here.”

The SIAL brand has extensive experience in trade shows. The company reported that it currently holds ten international food events in France, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, India, China, Algeria, and Indonesia, which bring together more than 700,000 attendees and 16,000 exhibitors a year.

Nicolas Trentesaux, CEO of SIAL Network Global, said, “We are very excited to partner with Emerald to launch SIAL America. After establishing robust business platforms in Paris, Shanghai, Montreal, and many more cities worldwide, we plan to bring a new international food exhibition to life in Las Vegas to enable the comprehensive sourcing of new products. We look forward to welcoming guests to share our vision and spark new and exciting connections in the food industry.”

As an international business hub for the food and beverage industry, SIAL’s philosophy is to include all food categories in the same event while uniting the industry and driving solutions to tomorrow’s food challenges, the company said in a statement. SIAL America hopes to establish itself as the number one large-scale food and beverage event in the United States, connecting an exhibitor base of food and beverage manufacturers with retailers, importers, exporters, distributors, and wholesalers of food products.
