Save A Lot reopened its Franklin, Pennsylvania, store on Sept. 16, bringing affordable groceries and community-focused events back to the northwestern Pennsylvania city.
The discount grocery chain relaunched its location at 317 Grant St. with a two-day grand opening celebration on Sept. 16 and 17. The Franklin reopening reflects the chain’s broader strategy of reinvesting across its Pennsylvania store network.
Celebration with Ribbon-Cutting and Giveaways
The first day drew a strong community response. The first 100 customers each received a pre-assembled bag of grocery staples.
Shortly after opening, the celebration turned civic. Store staff joined Franklin Mayor Doug Baker and other local elected officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Then, the store presented a $500 donation to the Atlantic Avenue Church for its food pantry, underscoring the chain’s commitment to addressing food access in the communities it serves.
“The store team and I are excited to bring Save A Lot back to Franklin residents,” said Chris Olako, Save A Lot Regional Director, in the company’s press release. “We believe this community deserves high-quality food at a value price point that works for them. What is great about the Save A Lot brand is it helps us deliver fresh cut meat in store, fresh produce and other grocery essentials to our neighbors in Franklin while delivering value we know they want and need.”
Momentum carried into the second day. On Sept. 17, the store gave away LunchMakers to its first 100 customers. It offered promotional pricing on fresh-cut meat, produce, and other pantry essentials, giving shoppers a direct taste of the store’s everyday value proposition.

What Shoppers Will Find at the Franklin Location
The Franklin store stocks a wide selection designed to meet everyday household needs. According to the company press release, the assortment includes everyday low prices on private label and national brand products, USDA-inspected meat cut fresh in-store, and farm-fresh fruits and vegetables.
Additionally, the location carries non-food merchandise and also offers lottery tickets, cigarettes, and beer and wine.
The store operates daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Save A Lot Reopens Stores Across the Region
The Franklin launch fits squarely within a wider reinvestment effort the company has pursued across multiple states. Save A Lot previously celebrated the return of the brand in 27 stores across Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The Franklin refresh extends that regional momentum further.
The reopening extends the company’s continuing reinvestment in its Pennsylvania store network, which included a wave of refreshed, reopened stores in Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania last fall as the company upgraded locations it operates directly.
Meanwhile, the chain continues to grow its customer loyalty footprint. According to Save A Lot’s 2025 Business and Social Impact Report, the Save A Lot Rewards program reached more than 750,000 registered users. It helped customers save more than $1.71 million through personalized offers and rewards. The program earned recognition as one of Newsweek’s “America’s Best Loyalty Programs of 2025.”
Founded in 1977, Save A Lot operates approximately 650 stores across 29 states, according to the company. That scale lets the chain offer competitive pricing that independent and budget-conscious shoppers increasingly seek, especially as food costs remain a pressure point for many American households.
