San Francisco Mayor London B. Breed joined other local officials and the community in celebrating the opening of the city’s first Mi Rancho Supermarket. He noted that having a new full-service grocery store is crucial in addressing food insecurity in the Bayview area.
The new Hispanic supermarket celebrated its grand opening on September 3, 2024, with special offers for the first customers. The store is located at 5900 Third Street in Bayview, where Duc Loi’s Pantry formerly operated.
“I am even more excited that our seniors and residents are going to have a full-access grocery store within walking distance where they will be able to purchase fresh produce and affordable meal options. This new store will help improve access to fresh food while providing dignity and choice to our residents in need,” noted the San Francisco mayor.

Mi Rancho features extensive departments for fruits, vegetables, seasonal produce, and local vegetables from the South San Francisco Farmers Market. The supermarket also features a butcher counter, a bakery specializing in Mexican bread, a dairy section, and a ready-to-go hot food station.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this very special community and to offer Bayview residents a full-service, accessible supermarket with fresh groceries, a full-service on-site bakery, and nearby parking. As a family-owned business, we are thrilled to open in San Francisco and to have the opportunity to support this community,” said the company’s CEO.

“Mi Rancho Supermarket is a wonderful new addition to this community that will expand local food options, improve health outcomes, and provide employment opportunities for residents,” said Sarah Dennis Phillips, Executive Director of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development.
Phillips highlighted that the opening of the new supermarket will positively impact residents who live, work, and go to school in the Bayview neighborhood.
Mi Rancho Supermarket has five other stores in the Bay Area offering fresh, quality groceries and low-priced meal options.
Earl Shaddix, Executive Director of Economic Development at Third, stated, “We are excited to add another full-service grocery store to the Bayview/HP community and are thrilled that our seniors will have access to fresh food within walking distance.”
