Cardenas Markets, which operates 65 stores across multiple regions, spearheaded a chainwide round-up campaign this holiday season.

Customers can round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, with the additional funds going to the Cardenas Markets Foundation. This foundation supports vital causes, including education, children’s well-being, health and wellness, and hunger relief.

Importantly, all funds raised remain within the local communities where the stores operate, ensuring a direct and immediate impact.

Donations Strengthen Local Organizations and Food Banks

The Cardenas Markets Foundation recently donated $50,000 to food banks across its operating regions, addressing food insecurity during the holidays. Additionally, the foundation committed another $50,000 to support several nonprofit organizations, including:

In Chicago, Tony’s Fresh Market, part of the Heritage Grocers Group, donated $8,000 to the Berwyn Holiday Fund. These funds helped feed over 500 families in Berwyn and surrounding neighborhoods.

Tony’s also partnered with the Prospect Heights Police Department to raise $5,730 in pantry staples through a pre-filled bag initiative. This program provided food to over 100 local families and will continue through New Year’s, ensuring ongoing support.
