Foodtown celebrated the grand opening of its newest Brooklyn supermarket at 960 Halsey Street, at the intersection of Halsey Street and Broadway in Ocean Hill, Bedford-Stuyvesant, on Friday, October 2, shared Allegiance Retail Services in a press release.

The approximately 12,000-square-foot supermarket is located in a unique area where Bushwick, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Brownsville converge, with East New York and Cypress Hills nearby. The store is also located at the Broadway Junction transit and commercial hub, with the J train stopping directly outside the store’s entrance and three bus stops nearby.

The new Foodtown will offer a wide selection of products designed to serve the diverse communities surrounding the store. International and Hispanic offerings will reflect the neighborhood’s multicultural population and the needs of multigenerational families and young professionals.

Customers will find a variety of fresh-food departments and services, including an on-site butcher, daily scratch-baked breads and rolls, and a full-service deli offering a variety of foods, store-made sandwiches, sushi, and rotisserie chicken. The store will also offer more than 500 beer SKUs.
