In the heart of Brooklyn, New York, lies a C-Town store that is much more than just a supermarket. It symbolizes resilience, perseverance, and female success in a male-dominated world. The story of this store and its owner, Caroline Diplan, is a testament to how determination and passion can transform adversity into opportunity.
The C-Town store was founded in 1975, but it wasn’t until 1993 that Caroline and her husband, Hugo, took over the business. For nearly 20 years of marriage, they worked together to build a thriving supermarket and a family legacy. However, tragedy struck in 2010 when Hugo passed away, leaving Caroline at the helm of the store and in charge of raising their children.
A Woman in a Man’s World
After Hugo’s death, Caroline became one of the few women leading a grocery store in Brooklyn. In a world dominated by men, she had to earn the respect and consideration of the industry. With determination, hard work, and excellent organization, she kept the store afloat and made it grow and prosper.
But above all, Caroline proved that success has no gender, achieving recognition in an industry where women are still a minority.
“My greatest professional achievement has been to gain the respect of this male-dominated industry,” she shares.
In fact, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Women’s Forum 2024, organized by the National Association Supermarkets (NSA) in New York, Caroline received recognition as a generational leader.
“This award means a lot to me because being honored in a male industry means that we are doing really good,” she said at the event that brought together nearly 200 attendees.
Caroline has big plans for the future of her C-Town store. She seeks to expand and acquire other stores. With her work team and clear vision, she is confident that she can continue growing and prosper in the supermarket industry.

Neurocoaching and Abundance
In addition to her success as a grocery store owner, Caroline is also a master Neurocoach.
In 2007, Caroline dedicated herself to her hobbies after achieving success in her professional life. She then began her neurocoaching studies, but just over five years ago, she gained ground in wealth, abundance, and money.
Thus, Caroline combines her business experience with her knowledge of neuro coaching to offer workshops, conferences, and therapies to people seeking to improve their lives and achieve success.
“Simply, what I have done is a copy-paste of my life into a structure so that another person can achieve it,” she says.
