Microsoft Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Award Winner Agtools, will be participating as one of only five companies chosen by Illinois AgTech Accelerator for a 12-week intensive program designed for best-in-breed agtech startups worldwide.
The Illinois Agtech Accelerator is housed at the Research Park of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
The program focuses on the participants connecting with mentors, customers, corporate partners, and investors. In addition, each startup receives a cash investment and access to Gener8tors network of mentors and investors.
“This is an honor and great opportunity for Agtools, it is a great platform to launch our mobile program to farmers, the Midwest is starting to appreciate Specialty Crops (Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts, Herbs, and Plants)” said Martha Montoya, the company’s CEO.

Gener8tor, a Wisconsin-based startup accelerator program founded in 2012, announced it is launching two new programs that are focused on innovation in the agriculture industry.
The programs are being run in partnership with Champaign-based VC firm Serra Ventures. The accelerators are also backed by Agri-Fab, Fox Development, GEM Realty Capital, The UIUC Research Park, the University of Illinois, and The Champaign County Economic Development Corporation.
To date, Gener8tor’s 131 alumni have cumulatively raised more than $400M in follow-on financing. Of these 131 alumni, 62.6% have raised more than $1M in follow-on financing or have been acquired.
