Fried Chicken: One of America’s Favorite Dishes

National fried chicken day, like every year, is celebrated on July 6th and NationalToday.com shares some tasty and slightly greasy data on dishes that are a part of the United States’ typical cuisine.

In this study, National Today asked 1,000 Americans how they feel about fried chicken.

Fried chicken is a comfort food and although it can be very greasy, well prepared, it can be very tasty and is enjoyed by millions of people around the world.

However, did you know that this dish originated in our own patio? Southern states are experts in this area. In reality, what really happened was that the Scottish techniques of frying chicken were fused with the traditions of African marinating and that’s how one of the world’s favorite meals was born in the U.S.

Fried chicken was a delicacy in World War II, but thanks to mass production techniques, we can now afford to buy it in almost any city in the world.

  • A 16% of Americans said they would marry fried chicken. A 95% of Americans say they like fried chicken and a 16% go so far as to say that they would marry fried chicken. Only 2% of US citizens say that they hate fried chicken.
  • A 6% of US citizens eat fried chicken every day, a somewhat alarming figure. So, I think that the day of roast chicken, I will do much more promotion, because 7% of people surveyed said they eat it every two days and 15% eat it 2 to 4 times a week.
  • Most people (27%) want chicken the way God brought it into the world. Which means they do not cover their fried chicken with anything, they prefer the simple goodness and undiluted taste of fried chicken with sauces.
  • Every 6 out of 10 Americans thinks that chicken and waffles go together. A 16% said that they preferred salty and not sweet chicken. A 32% rated chicken and waffles as “a combination made in heaven,” while 23% said they liked it, but only ate it on special occasions.
