Winn-Dixie Private Label Dominates With 18 National Awards

Winn-Dixie private label products and customer programs captured 18 national awards, cementing the grocer’s position as a food retail industry leader.

The Winn-Dixie Company collected honors from Store Brands, Progressive Grocer, the American Pie Council, USA Today, and Newsweek. Together, these recognitions reflect a grocer firing on all cylinders, from bakery cases to loyalty programs.

Winn-Dixie Private Label Products Lead the Game Changer Awards

Store Brands handed Winn-Dixie multiple Game Changer awards, spotlighting standout innovation across its private label lineup.

Recognized products included Know & Love Crimson Tomato and Know & Love Tuna Pouches. SE Grocers Snack Nuts and Hickory Sweet Bacon also earned spots on the winners’ list. Judges cited exceptional craftsmanship, bold flavor, and compelling everyday value throughout their selections.

Beyond individual products, Winn-Dixie captured a Game Changer Innovation Award for its Gratitude Month campaign. The grocer designed the 60-day, community-first initiative to support families navigating real economic pressure. It delivered discounted family meals, charitable donations, and store-level giving simultaneously. The campaign reimagined the role of the neighborhood grocer during a period of widespread financial uncertainty.

“These awards reflect the intentional work behind our products,” said Gayle Shields, Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer for The Winn-Dixie Company. “It’s all part of how we continue to help families bring home more good.”

Awards Celebrate Taste, Innovation, and Consumer Appeal

Progressive Grocer awarded the company several Editors’ Picks distinctions, underscoring the breadth of its private label strength. Know & Love Pecans Praline earned recognition alongside Prestige Piña Colada Sorbet. SE Grocers Place & Bake Cookie Dough — in both Chocolate Chip and Sugar varieties — also claimed honors. Judges selected these products for taste, innovation, and strong consumer appeal.

Meanwhile, the American Pie Council awarded Winn-Dixie three first-place finishes. Its 8-inch Caramel Chocolate Pecan Pie took top honors, as did the 8-inch Caramel Apple Pie. The 11-inch Apple Lattice Pie rounded out the sweep. These wins underscore the grocer’s ongoing investment in bakery products that deliver homemade quality and reliability.

Customer Trust Earns National Spotlight

Winn-Dixie’s private label success story does not end with products alone. USA Today named the grocer among the Best Stores in America this year. The publication also recognized it for America’s Best Customer Service. Additionally, Winn-Dixie earned a spot on USA Today’s America’s Best Loyalty and Rewards Programs list.

Newsweek added two more accolades to the grocer’s growing collection. The publication included Winn-Dixie in its Most Trustworthy Companies in America ranking. It was also named the grocer among America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women. Both distinctions reinforce Winn-Dixie’s reputation as an employer and community partner, not merely a retailer.

A Century-Old Grocer Built for the Modern Shopper

Founded in 1925, Winn-Dixie has served Florida and southern Georgia for more than 100 years. Today, the grocer combines deep community roots with a sharper focus on modern retail demands. Its private label portfolio continues to grow, driven by quality benchmarks and consistent customer feedback.

These 18 national awards arrive at a moment when Winn-Dixie’s private label competition across the food retail industry intensifies rapidly. Shoppers increasingly gravitate toward store brands that deliver value without sacrificing quality.

The grocer’s recognition across such a wide range of categories signals a brand executing on multiple fronts at once. For a hometown grocer competing in a crowded Southeast market, that kind of national validation carries real weight, both on shelves and in the communities it calls home.
