United Supermarkets Seeks Local and Regional Vendors for its Discovery Showcase

The United Family, owner of United Supermarkets, has opened applications for its 2nd annual Discovery Showcase, an initiative designed to connect local and regional vendors with the company.

The event allows businesses to showcase their products and potentially secure a spot on United Family store shelves.

Applications Open Until March 10

Businesses interested in participating can submit an online application by March 10. The United Family will assess applications based on product fit and market readiness across all departments.

Selected vendors will be invited to an in-person event in Lubbock, Texas, on April 30, where they will pitch their products directly to the company’s business team.

The Discovery Showcase aims to expand local product offerings while fostering relationships with small and diverse suppliers. United Family is committed to supporting local economies by sourcing high-quality regional products that align with customer preferences.

Expanding Opportunities for Vendors

The event will feature one-on-one meetings, breakout sessions, and a supplier expo designed to help businesses scale into retail.

Top-performing suppliers may be able to place their products in United Family stores, increasing their market reach.

“United Supermarkets has always been deeply rooted in our local communities and partners with suppliers to bring Texas and New Mexico flavors to our guests,” said Tony Crumpton, CMO of The United Family. “We had great success at our first Discovery Showcase last year, bringing several new local and regional brands onto our shelves. We can’t wait to see what new products we can bring to our guests this time around.”

Building a Strong Supplier Network

United Family prioritizes working with diverse and independent vendors, ensuring a broader assortment of products at competitive prices.

The retailer sources suppliers based on product quality and market potential rather than company size or classification.

The event’s sponsors include R.D. Thomas Advertising, Slate Group, Texas Fresh, and GO TEXAN. Successful brands from previous showcases include Lancaster Brothers, Kylitos Salsa, The Candyman Co., Wright’s Salsa, All Hale Meats, and Vollemans Milk.

The United Family, a subsidiary of Albertsons Companies, is a Texas-based grocery chain with stores in 54 communities across Texas and New Mexico.

The self-distributing company has its headquarters and distribution centers in Lubbock. It operates 99 retail grocery stores under four banners: United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos, and Albertsons Market, as well as 39 convenience stores.
