Hannaford Opened a New Store and Upgraded Six Existing Locations

Hannaford Supermarkets took significant steps to enhance the shopping experience of its customers in the first half of 2023. This included the opening of a brand-new store in the eastern region, as well as upgrading six of its existing stores.

In May, the grocer opened its 186th store in Blue Hill, Maine, which was the highlight of the first half of the year. The new store boasts a wide range of premium, fresh food options, and a full-service pharmacy, providing customers with a smooth and hassle-free shopping experience.

From March to June 2023, Hannaford completed six store remodels in Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont, in addition to the grand opening of Blue Hill. The upgrades focused on improving customers’ convenience by adding 24 self-checkout registers and installing five private pharmacy consultation rooms.

“The opening of our Blue Hill store marks an exciting moment for Hannaford, and we are grateful for the warm welcome and support we have received from the community,” said Hannaford Supermarkets Vice President of Retail Operations Todd Bullen. “These projects support Hannaford’s commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality food, dependable value, and exceptional service to our customers. We thank the many associates who supported this work and look forward to continuing to enhance our customers’ shopping experience.”
