Giant Food to Open New Bowie Store at South Lake Marketplace

Giant Food is set to open its newest store in Bowie, Maryland, at 810 Fairmont Drive in the South Lake Marketplace development. The 66,000-square-foot location will welcome shoppers on Friday, March 28, at 6 am.

The new Giant Food store offers full-service meat and seafood departments, a gourmet cheese selection, extensive prepared food options, fresh sushi, and an in-store Starbucks. This location also introduces Giant’s 50th Ledo Pizza Corner Shoppe, allowing customers to enjoy the beloved local pizza brand directly from the store’s deli section.

A Major Investment in Bowie’s Future

The new store underscores Giant Food’s commitment to enhancing the Bowie community by offering a modern, customer-centric shopping experience.

The store will replace Giant’s previous Bowie location at 3500 NW Crain Hwy, closing on March 27 at 6 pm. The company has offered employees opportunities to transfer to the new store, ensuring uninterrupted customer service.

Giant Food is the anchor tenant for South Lake Marketplace, a 600,000-square-foot retail and entertainment destination designed to attract shoppers and businesses alike.

Ledo Pizza and Local Favorites Expand at Giant Food

The Bowie store marks the 50th Ledo Pizza Corner Shoppe inside a Giant Food location. Customers can purchase Take and Bake Ledo Pizza to prepare at home or order a freshly made pizza on-site.

Additionally, Giant has partnered with Ben’s Chili Bowl, another Washington, D.C. icon, offering a selection of the restaurant’s signature comfort foods. These additions reflect the supermarket chain’s ongoing support of local brands and its effort to provide customers with authentic regional flavors.
