The Familia González Reynoso Foundation continues its longstanding commitment to education by awarding $300,000 in scholarships this year to more than 350 students pursuing higher education at colleges and universities throughout California and across the country.
“Education has always been a core value for our family and our business because we believe it has the power to change lives for generations,” said Estela González de Ortiz, president of the Familia González Reynoso Foundation. “These scholarships are an investment in students who have worked hard, dreamed big, and are building a better future for themselves and their families. We are proud to support them on their educational journey and help ensure that financial challenges do not stand in the way of their goals.”
The scholarship recipients represent a wide range of educational paths and institutions, including San Diego State University, Cal State Long Beach, UC Riverside, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, UC San Diego, Yale University, Purdue University, Pepperdine University, Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and East Los Angeles College, among many others.
Since its inception, the Familia González Reynoso Foundation has provided more than $2.5 million in scholarships to students pursuing their educational goals. In addition to scholarships, the Foundation helps with emergency living expenses, maintains sports facilities in our communities, supports convalescent homes in Mexico, donates to Olive Crest to help at-risk children, and offers citizenship preparation and other programs designed to help students and families overcome barriers to educational and economic opportunity.
